Our road trips are exclusively created and tested by us. We do not sell tours from tour operators. 
We try to favour relationships with local tourism stakeholders and in particular the local inhabitants who know their territory better than anyone. 
We have institutional partners attentive to the quality of our services. They have guided us in the process of creating the company MAP - Moto Auvergne Plaisir. Their level of involvement is the guarantee of the success of your road trip. 
Although a small company, MAP - Moto Auvergne Plaisir has the necessary professional and financial approvals with So Different's trademark license agreement.

What are the payment methods ?

We accept credit cards, bank to bank transfers, (except within 30 days of departure when we only accept credit cards). 
If you wish to pay by transfer, we will give you our IBAN.

What does "price from" mean ?"

Accepted Answer

The "price from" is calculated on the basis of a double room with half board with visits included and excluding insurance per person. The exact price per person is the one that will appear in the registration file with the options chosen (single room, insurance, etc.).

What types of insurance should I take out ?

Very often and without even knowing it, you get insurance for this type of trip. Your insurer can provide you with information about multi risk insurance travel and cancellation insurance. I am signing up for a road trip on my own, do I have to pay a single room supplement ?"

MAP - Moto Auvergne Plaisir propose rates based on a double room and/or to be shared with another participant. To make sure you share your room with a friend of yours who registers independently as well, let us know when you place your order, or contact us directly. If you are traveling alone and wish to pay the rate for a shared room, you will be with another participant who has made the same choice of this type of room with separate beds. If MAP - Moto Auvergne Plaisir is unable to find a participant who has made the same choice, you will have to pay the single room supplement. It is of course possible to opt for a single room. In this case you will have to pay the supplement corresponding to this option.

What additional budget should I plan for during my road trip ?

The additional budget is the one you feel you need to pay for your personal expenses (souvenirs, tips at your discretion, drinks not included in meals, tolls, etc.), the fuel for your vehicle as well as the visits you wish to make not included in the price of the road trip. Our road trips are half-board (overnight stay, breakfast and dinner are included in the prices). Unless otherwise indicated in our descriptions, the midday meal is not included in the price.

Yes. We can modify our existing motorcycle trips to your liking (one more stopover, a special visit, a restaurant or hotel of very high standing ...) or completely create your tailor-made road trip with new routes in the yellow territory marked below on the map.

What happens if I have paid for my road trip, and MAP - Moto Auvergne Plaisir disappears ?"

To practice our profession, it is imperative to be registered with Atout France, to take out professional liability insurance, and to obtain a financial guarantee. Our trademark licence contract with the company So Different meets these criteria and ensures that the funds paid for a reservation are protected and gives you the certainty of being reimbursed, or depending on the case, carrying out or continuing your road trip. in the event of a possible financial failure on our part.

What happens if I cancel my trip after receiving my deposit ?

In this case, you will have to inform us of your decision by mail. Depending on the cancellation date, you will have to pay the following cancellation fees: (the postmark being taken as proof) More than 60 days before departure : 15% of the total price including tax appearing in the registration file, plus an administrative fee of € 45 per person and transfer fees of € 15 per reimbursement made. From 60 to 31 days before departure : 25% on the total price including VAT in the registration file, plus a booking fee of € 45 per person and transfer fees of € 15 per refund (s) made. From 30 to 21 days before departure : 50% of the total price including tax appearing in the registration file, plus an administrative fee of € 45 per person and transfer fees of € 15 per reimbursement (s) made.  From 20 to 8 days before departure : 75% of the total price including tax appearing in the registration file, plus a booking fee of € 45 per person and transfer fees of € 15 per refund (s) made. Less than 8 days before departure : 100% of the total amount shown in the registration file. In case of no-show on the day of departure : 100% of the total price including tax appearing in the registration file. If you have subscribed to our cancellation insurance, you can open a file with the insurance (if medical reason or other valid event) and be reimbursed for these costs. Note: with a payment by an accredited bank card, insurance can be included, avoiding having to take out insurance. To be confirmed with your bank.

If you notice that a service does not meet the contractual specifications, and so you don’t suffer any inconvenience during the trip, please call us without delay. You will also have the contacts and telephone numbers of all your providers.

Will my luggage be transported by vehicle during the road trip ?

Accepted Answer

No, not for any of our road trips. You are a real motorcycle traveler. Your excess baggage can be deposited at our agency. It will be waiting for you when you return.

What type of motorcycle do I need to take part in your road trips ?

Accepted Answer

Quite simply with a motorcycle that you trust and are comfortable with. One that has the necessary luggage holders and in good working order to avoid possible mechanical incidents that could spoil your trip. If in doubt, have a professional service your bike and ask their opinion on the condition of your tires. Likewise, loading the motorcycle will surely require special adjustment of your suspensions. Again, take advantage of their experience to get this right. Given the choice of sometimes "picturesque" roads, the choice of a "sporty" motorcycle with luggage hanging on by straps is perhaps to be avoided!

I am a novice, without much experience in driving and motorcycle trips, can I sign up for a road trip ?"

Yes ! You are welcome ! If a motorcycle license inspector has given you the go ahead to drive this type of vehicle then you really should ! Our road trips take place on the road at a comfortable rhythm. You’re not racing against a stopwatch. You will need to be in good physical shape. Even a simple pulled muscle can quickly become unbearable over a few days. Please give us a call if you have any questions.

What luggage will I need ?

You will need to meet the accepted French safety requirements for compulsory motorcycle equipment : - A helmet approved to standard 22.05 with retro-reflective stickers. - Gloves certified to Standard EN13594 or CE / PPE - High visibility vest (or yellow vest) either on you or in your luggage. Failure to adhere to mandatory equipment guidelines may expose you to fines and point withdrawals. We accept no responsibility in the event of this happening. Suggestions for the rest of your equipment : Rain gear (jacket / pants or jumpsuit) if your motorcycle jacket and pants are not suitable for driving in the rain. Overall, equipment and clothing suitable for motorcycling (various protections and / or airbag vest) and temperature changes are necessary. Some passes, especially in the Alps, can sometimes experience short snowy episodes even in the summer months. The temperature can then drop suddenly. Conversely, our road trips in the south of France can be subject to severe heatwaves. The selected accommodations offer toiletries. A personal towel can still be part of the luggage if you feel like going for a swim in a lake. It can also be used if it rains during the trip. Tip: Slip a plastic bag into your luggage where you can store wet clothes. For your non-motorcycle clothing, you could survive on the basis of one pair of trousers a week, a t-shirt every 2 days, socks and underwear at your convenience ... and a swimsuit. If the accommodation offers access to a swimming pool you will need proper swimming trunks. Small tools : A multifunction knife and a small tool kit corresponding to your model of motorcycle to which you can add adhesive tape, a small handful of plastic clamps of various sizes, a rag, and chain grease spray if necessary.
